PTO President's Welcome
Michelle Wong
Hello everyone!
My name is Michelle Wong and I am a mom of 3 energetic children. A few of years ago, I made the decision to embark on a new journey in life and leave the workforce to focus on becoming a better partner, a better parent, and a home educator. Instead of constant stress, I wanted to lead a life authenticity and peacefulness.
Along this journey, I discovered that I am very passionate about childhood education as a whole. I believe in cultivating a love of learning for children. Not just classroom learning, but life learning - and becoming students for life. This is why the Montessori philosophy fit in well with our family. I would love to share this passion with you and your family.
We started at Goodwater when my oldest daughter was in Kinder - and she is now going into 3rd grade. Goodwater has been wonderful for us, as my children have thrived here, and they are always eager to attend and learn new things. I started volunteer at the school a couple years ago with the Orchard and Outdoor Education program. I've also been involved in helping the school with their parade floats at the annual Christmas Stroll and Red Poppy Festival parade in Georgetown. Last year, our PTO was initiated - and that was the perfect opportunity for me to help other parents who wanted to be a part of making this school a wonderful community get involved.
I would like to take a moment to thank you for supporting the PTO. I hope you join as a member as well BUT if you are not able to, please feel free to still participate in any and all meetings or events. Membership secures you a voting right, but in this PTO, our philosophy is one of inclusion to serve the whole child through family engagement.
If you ever have any questions, please feel free to reach out to myself or any of our board members. We will do our best to guide you with regards to volunteering, parent education, or school events.
I’m so excited to see you all at one of our many upcoming events.
Michelle
